Lily has begun volunteering since college. One of her passion was to continue cultivating her Chinese heritage in America. In 1999, she co-founded Chinese Heritage School of New Jersey and served as the Board of Director and Administrative Director for over 10 years. In 2000, she co-founded the New Jersey Chinese Cultural Studies Foundation and eventually became the Chairperson in 2003. The goal of the foundation is promote Chinese culture, heritage and language. She is also a valuable member of the Overseas Hong Kong Association (OHKA) as the Public Relations Director for four years; where she helped the organization to promote social and recreational activities for their members and families. In 2003, she was appointed as the Executive Director for the New Jersey Chinese-American Chamber of Commerce. She was involved in many networking projects, setting up business seminars and assisting those who wished to obtain certification in government programs. As a result of her extensive knowledge in certification programs, she was invited to serve as the consultant for the DOT, NY/NJ Port of Authority and NJ Transit for the DBE Certification Program. One of her legacies is a fund-raising project in 2004 for the International Red Cross. In 8 days, together with the help of a few others and the Chamber, the group collected and forwarded more than 80,000 USD in donations to the Disaster Relief Fund for Tsunami victims in South East Asia. In 2005, she joined the National Police Defense Foundation (NPDF) and took on the role as an Asian Liaison Officer. She is the liaison between the Chief's office and Asian organizations in the community, serving as a referral source to citizens in need of services, maintaining communication with Asia Government Bureau, coordinating outreach programs, and assisting with disaster needs. Embraced with the passion for Chinese Culture, Lily also volunteered to perform in Chinese Dance for the school as well as the public in many festivities. She joined the Overseas Cantonese Opera Association in New York in 2005 and has performed for the Chinese Community Center in Chinatown celebrating Chinese New Year ever year. With Lily’s extensive experience in assisting different local Asian communities and small businesses, she would like to continue dedicating her volunteer work in various organizations and projects where she can give back to the communities…A famous quote said, "Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others." — Audrey Hepburn.
