林品晶
女士履歷簡介:一九五四年生於澳門,七歲開始學習鋼琴,十五歲舉辦第一次個人演奏會。一九七六年畢業於香港中文大學音樂系後,負笈美國加州大學,於一九八一年獲得博士學位,曾任教耶魯大學音樂學院及數間著名大學。林品晶
女士的作品曾獲無數獎項,包括羅馬大獎,西北作曲家研討會首獎,及上海國際作曲家大賽最高榮譽獎等等。她的委約作品計有為新澤西交響樂團創作的〝琵琶行〞,為美國作曲家交響樂團在紐約肯乃基音樂廳首演的〝驚雷〞,及為紐約長風樂團所作的〝近江八景〞。她並曾接受美國藝術學院,紐約藝術基金會,亞洲文化協會及美國國家藝術基金會頒贈的各項獎勵。她的作品曾在世界各地的音樂節和藝術節中演奏。林品晶現居紐約,從事專業作曲,現任新澤西交響樂團駐作團作曲家。
Bun-Ching
LAM was born in Macao in 1954. She began studying piano at the age of seven and
gave her first solo recital at the age of fifteen. In 1976, she received a
Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance from the Chinese University of
Hong Kong, studied with David Gwilt. She then accepted a scholarship to further
her music studies in the United States and subsequently earned a Doctor of
Philosophy degree in composition from the University of California at San Diego
in 1981. The same year, she was invited to join the music faculty of the
Cornish College of Arts in Seattle, teaching composition, theory and
piano.
Winner of a 1991 Rome Prize
Fellowship, Lam has also won first prizes in the Hong Kong Conservatory Art
Song Competition, the Northwest Composer's Symposium, the Aspen Music Festival,
and the highest honor at the Shanghai Music Competition, which was the first
international composers' contest that took place in China. She is also a
recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Seattle Arts
Commission and Meet the Composer.
Active also as a pianist and conductor, she was most recently invited to
conduct the Macau Sinfonietta in a program including the premiere of "Saudades
de Macau," commissioned by the Macau Cultural Institute. Among her other
commissioned works are "Impetus" for the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra,
"Social Accidents" for the American Dance Festival,
"Similia/Dissimilia" for the duo (Trom-bown) and "Klang"
for Swiss percussionist Fritz Hauser.
Lam
now lives and works in New York.
